PROTECT at the 2014 SACNAS Conference in Los Angeles

PsacnasROTECT Project 4‘s Professor Ingrid Padilla and trainees recently participated in the 2014 annual meeting of the Society for Advancement of Hispanics/Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) in Los Angeles, California on October 15-18. Professor Padilla was actively involved in the conference, chairing a session entitled “Conversations with Scientists in Engineering” and serving as a panelist for another session on Careers in Environmental Science, Engineering, and Health. Additionally, UPRM master’s student Vilda Rivera presented a poster on her work at the intersection between environmental engineering and public health, which was well received by conference attendees.
