On January 16th and 17th, PROTECT researchers, trainees, administrators, advisers, colleagues and guests gathered at the Embassy Suites Dorado del Mar in Dorado, Puerto Rico for the 5th annual PROTECT retreat to discuss research progress. This year’s theme focused on celebrating trainee achievements; over 20 trainees from across the five participating universities were in attendance. Leaders from each project and core presented their progress to the PROTECT Scientific Advisory Committee. Trainees from several projects and cores showcased their team’s work and led the audience through a day in their labs. Trainee Leiming Yu also presented on the Data Core’s database development work using EarthSoft’s EQUIS Enterprise software. Additionally, the group heard presentations from Dr. Heather Henry of NIEHS/SRP and Dr. Doug Wallace of University of Pennsylvania.
