Jose-CorderoPROTECT is proud to announce that Co-Director and Core C Leader Cordero has been named the first Patel Distinguished Professor in Public Health at the University of Georgia in Atlanta, GA where he will head its Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. The Patel Distinguished Professorship was created to foster expanding research and service opportunities in maternal and child health in Atlanta, the U.S. and on the global scale. Cordero brings great expertise and many years of experience to the position; most recently he served as dean and professor of the University of Puerto Rico Graduate School of Public Health, and maintains leadership roles in the March of Dimes and other maternal and child health organizations. He will serve as a great asset to the people of Georgia while continuing to guide and co-lead PROTECT.
