In mid-April, PROTECT and CRECE (Center for Research on Early Childhood Exposure and Development in Puerto Rico) began seeing participants at a new clinic located in Manatí, Puerto Rico. The clinic is designed to create a safe, welcoming environment for our participants and their families, and is conveniently located near the hospital where the babies are born and our participants will be receiving their postnatal follow-up care. This location helps to relieve the burden placed on our patients, while granting our Human Subjects Core team a centralized location with all of the materials and equipment necessary for the study.

The clinic space will also serve as a location for internal meetings as well as community-wide events. In addition, the clinic’s centralized location will help to strengthen ties with the Manatí community by serving as a focal point for Community Outreach events in the area.

The PROTECT and CRECE teams will meet in Puerto Rico on June 24th to celebrate the opening of the new clinic and tour the facility.
