Congratulations to recent PROTECT graduates: Nazari, Kalhor, and Wurth!

PROTECT trainees–Roya Nazari, Koosha Kalhor, and Reneé Wurth–recently graduated from their respective programs. We would like to congratulate them on their accomplishments, thank them for their service in PROTECT, and wish them well in the next step in their careers!

Roya Nazari, who worked with PROTECT’s Project 5, defended her PhD dissertation on December 5th, 2017. Her research focused on the enhancement of electrochemical degradation of contaminants in groundwater.

Koosha Kalhor, who worked with Project’s 4 and 5 of PROTECT, completed his Master’s degree in late 2017. His research focused on the assessment and modeling of groundwater flow and nitrate contamination within coastal karst aquifers of Puerto Rico. After graduation, Koosha began working with Frank Seta & Associates.

Reneé Wurth, a recipient of 2016 KC Donnelly externship, defended her PhD on August 31st, 2017. Reneé studied the relationship between dietary frequency and urinary phthalate levels among pregnant women in Puerto Rico. Reneé also worked on preliminary cluster analysis of food frequency data to look for instances of dietary patterns or clustering. After graduation, Reneé joined Harvard School of Public Health as a postdoctoral associate.
