CEC Director Dr. Carmen Velez Vega & Research Coordinator Hector Torres Zayas Lead Report Back Workshop

May 8, 2019 | Community Engagement Core, PROTECT Events and Presentations, PROTECT Team

Back in March of this year, CEC Director Dr. Carmen Velez Vega & Research Coordinator Hector Torres Zayas coordinated and lead a workshop titled, “Report Back Strategies for the Dissemination of Research Findings,” for the Center for Collaborative Research in Health Disparities (CCRHD) Community Engagement Core.  This workshop focused primarily on the mobile app (DERBI) that was created by the partnership of PROTECT and Silent Spring Institute due to participants being extremely interested in how using a mobile application to share results with study participants has worked for us so far. The Digital Exposure Report Back Interface (DERBI) is an unprecedented approach to reporting individual research results led by the efforts of Dr. Velez Vega and Dr. Phil Brown, which allows participants to evaluate, understand, and react to their personal report in comparison to US and cohort averages.
