On Friday, May 17th, more than 30 PROTECT, CRECE, and ECHO researchers, research staff, trainees and nurses met at the Condado Plaza Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico to discuss research status, recruitment, plans and data management for the three research projects. Co-Directors Akram Alshawabkeh, José Cordero and John Meeker started off the meeting by providing an update and overview. The team members then provided an update on progress for each project and recruitment status. The discussion included harmonizing protocols to facilitate research and accelerate progress towards objectives for the projects.  The team also covered data harmonization and sharing. Zaira Rosario-Pabón, Zlatan Feric, and Sarah Corley were the lead presenters at the meeting.

Overall, the meeting was a success and the PROTECT, CRECE, and ECHO Team Members are better positioned for collaboration than ever. It was also wonderful opportunity to meet with the staff on the ground in Puerto Rico and acknowledge the tremendous work they do for the projects.
