On Friday, June 21st from 10-11:30 am EDT the PROTECT Training core will be hosting the PROTECT Academy Seminar on Big Data Analytics for PROTECT researchers, staff, and trainees to attend.

This seminar will be a new addition to the PROTECT Academy Interdisciplinary Introductory Seminar Series focused on Environmental Health Disciplines for Non-Experts presented to the PROTECT community in 2013.

The purpose of these seminars continues to be to provide non-experts in the topic areas presented with an introduction to the primary concepts, basic terminology, and applicability of that field to the understanding of environmental health problems.

The Big Data Analytics seminar will start with a high-level overview that includes Big Data tools and techniques. The overview will be followed by a discussion of bio-statistics and statistical methods in environmental health which will lead into an overview on machine learning methods.  The seminar will conclude with 15 minutes for Q/A.
