The application form will be available in Spring 2020.

Instructions for Completion of the Trainee Development Award Application:

When reporting on the impact of your IDP Activities, you may want to consider the following ways in which the activities may have advanced your development with respect to your career goals and increased professional skills:

–          Integration – Did your activity allow you to work across multiple projects/cores, and/or gain a better understanding of another discipline?

–          Research methods – Did your activity result in the development of greater competence in research methods (e.g., procedures, analysis methods)?

–          Community Engagement Core involvement – Did your activity allow you to interact with a community impacted by environmental health issues (can be the Puerto Rico community or other community close to your institution)?

–          Research Translation Core involvement – Did your activity promote the transfer of your engineering/science knowledge to government policy, lead to a patent, or help disseminate research results?

–         Collaboration – Did your activity result in a meaningful opportunity for you and other PROTECT Trainees to learn from one another and/or achieve an impactful outcome that benefited from the engagement of multiple participants?

If selected as a Trainee Development Award recipient, the Trainee must prepare a 2 to 3 page report on the outcome of their Trainee Development Award and Activity and how it enhanced their professional development.  This report is intended to be posted on the PROTECT website and the Trainee will iterate on the report with their research advisor and a training core representative until complete.  It should be completed within 1 month of the completion of the Trainee Development Award Activity.
